A Rusty Pelican Wedding

A wedding at the Rusty Pelican keeps it easy for a destination wedding in Tampa. The ceremony takes place in the gazebo which sits right on Tampa Bay. Beautiful views of the water without having to walk in the sand. Another added bonus is the the flowers used on your gazebo are transferred directly to your head table which will save you money on added flowers. There are three ballrooms there- the Grand Ballroom for larger receptions, The Pelican Room for the average wedding reception and The Tampa Room for under 50 guests. All of the rooms offer views of the water and sunsets over the water. Beautiful!

Sometimes you just want to keep it simple and this wedding at the Rusty Pelican in February of 2010 wanted just that. The Bridesmaids bouquets were 3 stems of open cut callas wrapped with red ribbon to match their dresses making them very reasonable at 30.00 each. The Bride carried callas with red roses and her bouquet was 90.00. The centerpieces were 22.00 with submerged mini callas with lariope and a floating candle. The couple selected flowers they liked and then kept it simple - including their budget. Great choice and they did not have to do anything themselves making it budget conscience and stress friendly. The Rusty Pelican with Limelight Photography and Flowers By The Bride's Bouquet

We often get the pleasure of working with Limelight Photography www.stepintothelimelight.com and I am always excited to do so. I have done a million weddings at The Rusty Pelican ( well maybe not quite a million!) but enough that sometimes they start to look the same to me. So it was nice to see the freshness to the images taken from a different perspective. Of course Stacy and Nelson were a gorgeous couple and the love that they had for each other shined through. As you can see, everyone had fun and enjoyed the beautiful Tampa day. Thanks go out to Limelight for sharing the pictures with me. Weddings this week at the Rusty Pelican and The Don Cesar

This week as we usher out the old year , we will be delivering wedding flowers to The Rusty Pelican and then Sat Jan 2 at the Don Cesar. I am excited to do both because both brides have made great choices and I can't wait to see how it all comes together. A New Years Eve always sounds romantic and with the backdrop of the Tampa Bay and the lights of the city twinkling over the water, the party just starts to warm up. The DJ that night will be Felix and always knows how to keep the party moving - everyone is guaranteed to have more fun than they have ever had. Saturday at The Don Cesar, I will be working with a family that I have had the privilege to work with all four girls. In their cocktail room, they have planned to set up big screen TVs, so none of the football games are missed. Between the dancing and the games- it will be a wedding to remember and I get to be a part of both! Stay tuned for pictures!

Flowers for Fall weddings in Florida at The Rusty Pelican

I know you are saying, it is hard to feel like fall when it is so warm but I think we can at least experience the season change with richness of fall flowers. We used green cymbidium orchids, mango mini callas and leonitas roses ( often called the brown rose) with fruit- wine red pomegranates in a hand painted glass bowl. The tablecloths were a shimmery copper color and with the candles- it just couldn't have looked prettier. So we may not get fall leaves but we can still evoke that fall feeling with fall flowers.
